BERBER AND LOOP CARPETS FOR SEATTLE, BELLEVUE, BOTHELL, LYNNWOOD, AND EVERETT

Loop carpeting often referred to as Berber carpet, acquired its name for a tribe of people located in North Africa. This Tribe, using natural fibers and speckled yarns, could create a fabric woven with multiple loops of varying sizes. Today the same idea is used to create a carpet that looks very natural, is visually interesting, and comfortable to walk on. The loops in Berber carpet create an extra cushion to your feet or to the rest of your body when you sit or stand on it. With all the different options, it is important to educate yourself before you purchase to determine which one will give you the best performance for your money.

Why is Nylon the best Fiber for Carpet

Nylon is inherently stain-resistant and it retains its appearance longer than any other fiber on the market. Wool Berber, while expensive, is all-natural and naturally resistant to microbial growth and odor retention. Olefin (Polyester) and PET (recycled plastic soda bottles) fibers make up the lower-priced Berbers. These varieties, while cost-effective, will not retain their new appearance as long as their nylon counterparts. While Polyester carpeting has superior stain resistance, it is more susceptible to matting. It’s important to understand the benefits and limitations before you purchase a Berber carpet. We have replaced a number of cheap Berber carpets installed by companies that did not have their client's best interest at heart.
